Planner
Position Description:
You’re a whiz when it comes to organizing, planning and effectively scheduling events, guiding them through to successful completion. That’s why Peerless Industries Inc. is looking for a strategist like you to monitor, control the schedule and plan for materials by balancing supply and demand for product in IFS. Specific duties include:
- Documenting planning and purchasing data and prepare planning reports for evaluation
- Developing a working knowledge of the company’s products and processes to ensure optimal master schedule stability, order creation, rescheduling and load-leveling
- Monitoring information from sales, marketing and manufacturing to better understand competitive lead times
- Maintaining forecast in computer system as well as predetermined safety stock and inventory levels
- Communicating closely with product management, customer service and control desk/production
- Expediting or removing orders as necessary
- Working closely with accounting, quality and engineering departments
- Measuring supplier performance through use of specific metrics and scorecards
Position Requirements:
Success here requires:
- 3+ years of manufacturing planning/scheduling/purchasing experience
- Strong background in forecasting
- PC proficiency with MS Office
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques and MRP systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; bilingual abilities in Chinese or Spanish a plus
- Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
- APICS CPIM and/or ISM CPM certification strongly preferred
- Overseas buying experience and familiarity with IFS ERP system beneficial

Product/Project Manager-Custom Solutions
We are a Chicago west suburban manufacturing company seeking an individual with the ability to manage and grow our custom product and project opportunities.
Position Description:
Driving the success and growth of our custom products/projects, you will identify market product and service needs and direct all aspects of product lines throughout their life cycles. In addition, you will:
- Turning customer ideas in to formal, planned, staffed and funded projects
- Providing direction, leadership and guidance for projects
- Directing prototype and concept generation per customer requests
- Championing product development processes
- Fielding customer requests for product improvements, technical data, illustrations, etc.
- Managing all project work to ensure projects close on-time and on-budget
- Documenting project execution
- Studying and evaluating market and new product opportunities
- Developing strategic product introductions
- Handling the creation of product plans, including life-cycle management, competitive analysis, industry tracking and pricing strategies
- Leading all product maintenance initiatives
- Managing, collecting and conducting product research
- Traveling to customer sites
Position Requirements:
Consideration for this exciting opportunity requires:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years of Product/Project Management experience within manufacturing industry
- Strong understanding of product development process
- Proficiency with MS Office (Project, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Word and Access)

CNC Machine Operator
Purpose: To operate and maintain CNC Laser/Punch machine
Education: High School Degree required
Experience: Must have at least 6 months to 2 years experience of CNC Lasers and/or Punches preferable Trumpf machines
Skills/Abilities:
- Must be able to use measuring equipment (micrometer, caliper, tape measurer)
- Must be able to lift 40 lb. minimum
- Must be familiar with Laser/Punch Control and Windows Operating System
- Blueprint reading ability
- General knowledge of gases and the process of installation
- Knowledge of machine safety areas, warning light barriers, over head mirrors, and emergency switches
- Basic understanding of mathematics
- Safety glasses, safety shoes and back support equipment

Pack-Line Control Desk Clerk
Purpose: To effectively communicate with customer service, shipping, paint-line, pack-line and sales to coordinate orders and shipping.
Education: High School Degree or equivalent required
Experience: Must have 2+ years of manufacturing related clerk experience
Skills/Abilities:
Effective computer and written/verbal communication skills
Responsibilities:
- Issuing, receiving and closing shop orders
- Providing picking slips for shipping
- Merging and creating shop orders
- Running open order reports
- Allocating orders in the computer system for shipping
- Tracking past-due orders
- Providing priority lists for paint-line
- Ensuring that all hot orders are prioritized
- Maintaining a safe and clean working environment
- Promoting safety, good housekeeping and great work ethic

Quality Assurance Inspector
Purpose: To ensure quality products are being manufactured by conducting inspections and controlling documentation.
Education: High School Degree required, Associated Degree desired, Quality related training required
Experience: One to three years of quality inspection experience if no college degree
Skills/Abilities:
- Bi-lingual speaking English and Spanish
- Effective writing skills
- Good communicative skills
Responsibilities:
- Performs part inspections to drawings before a production run begins.
- Verifies quality and reliability of products by inspecting and dimensioning parts to drawing.
- Identifies raw material condition by collecting samples and conducting inspections and physical test.
- Identifies product in-process condition by collecting samples during the production process.
- Determines condition of finished goods by collecting, inspecting and judging product acceptability in comparison to specifications.
- Determines acceptability of rework by conducting inspections and physical tests of reworked product.
- Documents product status by recording and summarizing data.
- Contributes to a team effort.
- Identifies errors in bills of material (BOM) and routings, and reports them to Engineering for correction. (Paint line and Pack line only)
- Prepare, control and maintain manufacturing and inspection documentation. (Fabrication Only)
- Performs in-process inspections during production runs. (Fabrication Only)
- Other duties as assigned.
